Asking Ward for £15, requesting that he bring it in person or send it by registered mail, and pressuring Ward to visit. Discussing his daily work on the "new serial novel" (i.e. The Woman in White), noting it "is the longest and most complicated [Collins has] ever tried yet - and the difficulties at the beginning of it are all but insuperable." Sending regards from Charley and Caroline.
